From the south, follow the Maine Turnpike -- Interstate 95* -- to Exit 75* (Auburn). Go off at Exit 75* (Auburn) and follow U.S. 202 East through the center of Auburn and across the bridge into Lewiston. There is one right turn at a traffic light in Auburn a short while before reaching the bridge to Lewiston. Just keep following signs for Route 202 East -- they're very clear. Route 202 is Main Street in Lewiston and also Maine State Routes 11 and 100. Continue about 3.5 miles on 202 toward Augusta. We're on the right hand side about 1.5 miles beyond the railroad underpass - a big sign marks the spot. From the north on I-95*, take Exit 80* (Lewiston) and follow signs for Lewiston leading to Route 196 West (Lisbon Street). Follow 196W for 1.1 miles and turn right onto East Avenue just after Martel School, a large brick building on the right. Once on East Avenue, follow signs to U.S. 202. There will be one left turn from East Avenue onto Russell Street before eventually exiting down a ramp onto 202 (Main Street). Simply follow the signs to 202 -- they're very clear. At the junction with 202, turn right and then continue as above -- watch for our sign on the right about 1.5 miles beyond the railroad underpass. Note that if you cross the river from Russell Street, you will have missed 202 and will be in Auburn, so turn around and go back to 202. Travelers coming from the north can also follow 202, 11, or 100 toward Lewiston, watching for our sign on the left after passing through Greene. From Augusta to our location, 202 is actually a faster way to go than the Turnpike (I-95). * IMPORTANT NOTES: (1) The Maine Turnpike from just north of Portland to and some ways beyond Lewiston and Auburn was, for many years, called I-495 and will still be marked as such on older maps. As of early 2004, however, it became I-95. Persons traveling north from Portland should simply be sure to follow the signs to Lewiston and Auburn, which does not involve making any turns or exits until reaching Lewiston or Auburn; (2) The exit numbers were also changed. Auburn, previously identified as Exit 12, became Exit 75, and Lewiston, previously Exit 13, became Exit 80.
