| The cabins are quaint individual buildings in the classic style of New England lodging establishments. Ranging in size from small units with one double bed to larger units with two bedrooms, they were originally built in the 1920's, opening first as Jackson's Pine Cone Cabins and later becoming Grant's Tourist Court. The motel building was added around 1960 and the name was changed to Maine Motel and Cabins. This long, proud history makes Maine Motel and Cabins the longest continually operating lodging establishment in the area and possibly the state. Rest assured, however, that although we still have most of the original cabins, they've been considerably modernized since they were built, now featuring cable TV and bathrooms with showers, making them much like motel rooms inside, but, in a way, they are also their own historical sites. |   |
